How to fix my Directv signal?

  • A few months ago when I had Directv installed, the installer split the signal from the den to my bedroom (the box is in the den, and we watch one or the other). Yesterday, we had the receiver upgraded to a DVR. When we tried to watch tv in the bedroom, there is no longer a picture. I called Directv and they said they do not support anything that is split even though it was their installer that split it. Is there any way to split the signal from a DVR box?

    Call them again and tell them to get out and fix it. Sometimes you have to be firm with them. Tell them one of your TVs isn't working since they installed the DVR and you want it fixed.

Although the installer did split the line he was probably a contractor and NOT a DTV employee and just did it as a favor. Why not just pay the $4.99 a month and get a box for the other room so you can watch different things on each?

good advice glen, i had them for 2 years, they keep you on the phone for an hours at times, get firm with them, talk slow and explain the whole thing from the start, besides verizon they are one of the worst at customer service

Agreeing with above, I just went through a similar deal with cable. The tech finally installed a post amp and gave me a separate line to my computer in the other room.
