How do I remove recorded contents from my DVD+R disc?

How do I edit out the commercials of a TV show I recorded onto a DVD-R disc?

  • I used my DVD Recorder to record a TV show onto a DVD-R disc. How can I now edit out the commercials? My computer's DVD-Rom will play the disc, is there a program that will allow me to edit the disc, or copy the disc to my hard drive and edit it from there?

  • Answer:

Hi Lisa, You will have to copy it to your hard disk, edit it and then write it to a new DVD. A DVD-R can't be erased or altered after it is recorded. If you have a PC you probably have Windows Movie Maker on your computer. Go to Start, All Programs and open Windows Moviemaker. With it you can transfer the DVD to your hard drive and edit it. Then save the edited file to DVD. It is not as hard as it sounds. Norm
