How do you transfer shows from Tivo to computer?

Is there any way that I can control my tivo from my computer? I don't mean transfer shows.

    The only way that I know of to CONTROL your TIVO is to use a Slingbox. This will run you between $130 and $230. You also need a DSL/Cable connection. I personally do not have one, but I understand that work very well and are highly recommended by most people who use them. Good luck.

Tivo offers you the ability to log on from their website and send instructions to your Tivo. If your Tivo is connected by high-speed modem then the instructions will be run nearly instantly. If your Tivo is plugged in with a telephone line then its only on the next Daily Call that the instructions will be sent and run. If you have Tivo Series 1 or 2 (version 1) and have time and can read you can use a program called TivoWeb (third party software not supported or created by Tivo). This adds a server function to your Tivo and lets you control the Tivo instantly (all you need is an IP address) and you have instant access to your Tivo without waiting. This is method also requires high-speed internet connection. Properly configured you can also stream video from your Tivo to any computer for viewing.
