Direct tv DVR receiver?

What is the best Direct tv dvr receiver?

• I have had so many problems with the models that are sent from direct tv now I am looking for one I can purchase. I don't need HD just a good receiver that won't skip and crap out every other month. I would love reccomendations and any sites that rate receivers.

  DirecTV's new DVR's SUCK. They tried to roll them out onto the market too fast so they could break their partnership with Tivo. Now that said I would recommend getting the DirecTV Tivo's. DirecTV does NOT sell them any longer but you can purchase them and use them on your account still. I have 5 DirecTV Tivo's that have been modified so I can network them to my homes computer network. This allows all five to be able to transfer the shows/movies to any other rooms Tivo. I can transfer the shows/movies to my networked PC's so I can end up burning the shows/movies to DVD. I can view my pictures that are stored on my PC and view a slideshow on my DirecTV Tivo and the TV. I can also listen to my MP3's from the PC on the TV through the D tivo. The DirecTV Tivo's are more STABLE and BETTER product that DirecTV DVR's, More RELIABLE. I have had three of my DirecTV Tivo's for almost 7 years without ANY Problems. You can upgrade to larger hard drives for more recording time (Up to 750 Hours of recording time) ..DirecTv Tivo's use a Linux software so it is 100% legal to modify the software to do the above.. You can also purchase a DirecTV Tivo from Ebay for pretty cheap and use dvrupgrade.com software to upgrade them yourself. I purchased my DirecTV Tivo's from Ebay for about $50-$60 each. I would recommend using DirecTV Tivo models: Hughes SD-DVR40, SD-DVR80, Phillips DSR704, Phillips DSR708. They have been 100% reliable for me. these are two of the models I have and use..
