Will a north american dvd/bluray PLAYER , PLAY movies on a european tv?

I have a place in Spain. I bought a HD tv there. I want to watch movies in top quality there. If i buy a machine from here and TAKE MOVIES over with me from HERE will it play properly (top quality) on the european tv. The dvd/bluray player WILL BE FROM NORTH AMERICA...AND THE MOVIES ALSO........but played on a european tv. I have the power issues covered.I know its PAL there, BUT is from player to tv..or if thr player plays it will the tv still show it, or can you buy a dual player? good quality? thx for any info!!

Yes. 720P and higher is the same around the world. A recent set should be able to play 480i/480p and NTSC video fine.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no as Canada, Mexico and the United States have chosen ATSC instead of DVB-T (which is what Europe is using). Unless the TV you bought in Europe is a dual system TV and can play both DVB and ATSC it won't work.

most of europe run on PAL, where the USA runs on NTSC, which usually means they wont work unless u have a region free player
