How to connect 1 sky+ box to another normal sky box?

How do I connect my Sky HD box?

  • I have a normal Sky box hooked up which has worked away fine for the past 5 yrs and I pay €25 per mth. My friend has an old Sky HD box she's throwing away and says I can have it. She says that if I ring up Sky TV, they'll hook me up with Sky plus (which is what I want) for the same price, it's only a matter of switching over the boxes and they'll send the signal over the phone and it'll still be €25 per mth. Is this right?

You may need to Upgrade, which you can do through Sky T.V Sky TV Subscription: Packages £20-£53 per month (pm). Sky Movies Box Office and Sky Store costs extra. Sky News and Pick TV are available without subscription; Pick TV, Channel 4, Channel 5, 5 USA and 5* require a viewing card. Sky box and set-up required. Sky are currently updating thier systems

You will need two cables from the dish, for Sky+ (or HD). This also requires a dual or quad LNB fitted. http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/lnb.htm http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/satellitefaq.html
