What is a good DVD recorder?

I am looking to buy a DVD recorder just to record my favorite TV shows to a DVD, What is a good recorder?

  • I have looked around and they talk about "tuning" and "upscaling". I don't know what all that means but i don't care wether it is capable with HD because i don't have HD service. I am not trying to convert VHS to DVD or anything like that. I just simply need it to record TV programs on to a DVD when i want them. Any suggestions?
