Comcast digital transport remote?

Comcast digital transport adapter clarification.?

  • Ok. I've been asking questions and I'm still confused. I have Comcast's basic cable and originally had about 65-ish channels. Comcast now enhanced their channels and the channels have a picture saying I need their digital transport adapter to view the channels. Is there any alternative device I can buy instead of Comcast's?

  • Answer:

Practically no. You would need a cablecard based cable box, and nobody makes simple cablecard cable boxes or other boxes for retail sale to the public (only for sale to the providers). You have to get a DVR (such as TiVo or Moxie), Cablecard TV, or TV tuner (Ceton or Silicon Dust), plus rent the card, or get whatever box the provider offers for their deal.

No. But why would you want to buy something, when Comcast will give you two for free?
