Sky HD, is it any good?

  • I've just got a new HD telly and i'm thinking about getting Sky HD I don't want to get it if the quality improvement is minimal, only is its a lot better. What do you think about it?? Thanks!!

    It's incredible! Especially, sport, movies and nature programmes. They have loads of HD channels as well. 34 in total. The new menu is great as well, simple and effective. The picture improvement is easily noticeable, and once you watch something in HD, you won't want to watch standard def anymore!

It cost an extra £10 per month. Quality is great in sound and vision but the number of channels is limited. If you don't take sports and movies you're limited to BBC, Sky 1 and 2 and National Geographic plus 1 or 2 others like Channel 4 who simply broadcast their ordinary output on HD even if it is filmed in black and white or poor quality. BBC only gives HD in the evening and includes a lot of repeats.Taking Sports and Movies is pretty expensive. Freesat will give you some of these channels including BBC free

The picture quality is amazing compared to normal standard Sky etc.If you like live football etc you will be amazed by the difference.Even the old movies from the 80etc look amazing when Sky turn them into a HD movie.I highly recommend it.You also get 160GB of memory instead of 80GB for recording your favorite stuff.Anything recorded in HD does take a bit of extra memory though then recording normal SD stuff

At last, I’ve got Sky HD. The install happened on Saturday, and now I’m enjoying glorious pictures. Well, nicer ones with the occasional wow factor.

sky hd is well worth the money, but make sure you set up your tv properly to show the the best picture possible.
