How do i transfer my DVD on to my computer?

How can I transfer my video directly from my camcorder to dvd in my computer or recorded to my computer dvd?

    Rent or purchase a Digital 8 camcorder. They have FIREWIRE. It will talk to the PC, and allow the video to be digitized. if you have a Mac, imovie has a new feature called magic imovie. one-button will engage the Digital eight deck and automatically capture the footage, add dissolves between scenes, and add a simple title. If you have a PC, the simplest software is Windows movie maker 2. both of these solutions require any 1394 FireWire cable. good luck

unfortunately Vidmiser is right.You must have a fire wire output on your camcorder to do this.Do u have the Digital8 or just regular 8mm I own a Sony Digital8 MODEL DCR-TRV480 with touch screen LCD and I currently can transfer anything (VHS,TV, and camcorder tapes) using the firewire connection and "nero burning rom" software burns it DIRECTLY to DVD. The regular sony 8mm does not have this feature. If you want to do this on a regular basis, I'd try to pawn or sell the 8mm and upgrade to the digital8 which is quite affordable at walmart...got mines for over a year now and it works great.
