How to set universal remote for tv?

I have a sanyo flat screen tv that I bought few years ago I lost the remote so I bought a universal remote control. Im having a hard time setting it. Im soo confused..

get the manual for the remote at the remote makers website such as magnavox or ge etc.!!!!!!!!! hope this helps!!!!!!!!!

The remote should have come with a manual that explains how to setup the remote. In general you'll need to try the different codes for Sanyo listed in the manual to find the one that works the best. Some functions will not be able to be accessed through the universal remote even if you do find a code that works.
