I my sky box faulty Please help?

I had a new sky HD box installed 2 weeks ago by sky and they moved my old sky box up stairs to my bedroom. The new Sky HD Box was working fine but now it seems to be going wrong. Every so often when I go to to view tv guide the Tv guide isn't blue. The colour goes funny and is a strange black colour. Then if you go back and try and view a channel it comes up with a message saying no Satellite Signal being recieved. The only way to solve this problem is to completely switch power off to sky box wait a few minutes and then switch back on. Also it keeps switching off by its self and then won't switch back on unless I do the above. And finally If I go to tv guide and press the red Button to view sky any time. my tv looses the picture from the sky box. My tv comes up with a message saying no signal being recieved. It only does this when I try and access sky any time. My sky HD Box is conected to my tv via HDMI cable. What do you think the problem is. Is my sky + Hd box faulty or is it some thing else. I am trying to decide whether to call sky or not. Any advice would be much apreciated thanks in advance

Its most likely a software glitch in the box itself, I would ring sky and tell them, its 08442 41 41 41, select the option for technical assistance. I work for sky broadband technical, And ive checked up on sky hd and there is some problems with some boxes, but its probably a software glitch.

Get in touch with Sky and tell them you want the box swapping over.With you saying you only just add it i'm thinking you must have paid the £49 for it.Well the reason the boxes are that cheap is because they are reconditioned boxes.I ordered it for this old woman in my street and the engineer came and he tried 4 different boxes because the others were faulty.After he had left later in the day she rang me and said it was not working again so i got in touch with Sky for her and told them.In the end they came out again and this time it was a brand new box and up to yet she's had no trouble with it.Btw i paid £300 for mine when it first came out and Ive even had that changed once,lol

It sounds like either there is a signal problem in the area, the way to tell that is if you go on normal tv and the picture is bad or if you have freeview and the pictures not there or it jumps or says bad signal then you know its the aerial or the area you are in. If not then yes the sky box is faulty, just give them a call and explain the situation and they should replace it as they have warrantys. hope this helps
