How are DVD's and CD's made?

How can I archive DVDs?

  • I have all my music CDs on an external hard-drive and play them through an old laptop and speaker system, so I dont have to have the CDs taking up space. Is there anything I can do with DVDs (or even just the ones I have made myself) so that they will play back through the TV (with HDMI etc) so that I can save space in my very small home ?

  • Answer:

You can always back them up using a program like you would a CD, eg; DVDShrink or NERO.

Though my aim is not to save the space of my home, I usually rip and convert my dvds to avi and mp4 so that I needn't take the dvds with me on my journey. So you can rip your dvds and them store the converted movies to youe external hard drive. I'm using brorsoft blu-ray ripper, upgrading from its dvd ripper, to rip and convert my BDs and DVDs to avi and mp4 for playback on my android tablet. If you only want to archive your DVDs, you can try brorsoft dvd ripper. It is easy to use and I'm pleased with the great quality of the converted movies. You can give it a try and see whether it is helpful to you.
