Which Freeview box would/do you recommend?

Freeview set top box?

  • My Daewoo DS608p has stopped receiving signals. I notice from the forums that about 160.000 of users will find their set top boxes obsolete since the signals were changed a couple of months ago. I now have to buy another. Can anyone please recommend a freeview box that does the basic, nothing fancy I just wish to pick up the freeview channels, not record. Thanks

    Hi - there are several set-top boxes on the market and none really better than any other. Unfortunately, the quality of your reception is dependent on the quality of the signal received and the sensitivity of the boxes (especially in fringe areas) but is you are in a good reception area then you should have no problems with a good aerial. Just look for any features that you may want and choose appropriately. (eg Sports and Sentanta systems)

I bought a Digihome from Argos, I think it was about £12 I know it was the cheapest and it works fine.I read about all the earlier ones going "puff" it seems a bit unfair to me.

I was amongst one of those people. It's frightning to think that someone can just flick a switch and decide that home equiptment is now useless! You can pick up pretty basic ones from Argos for about £30.
