How do I share my vonage internet connection with my other computer?

I need to use a computer with a wireless connection to share internet through its lan cable to anothercomputer

  • Ok, so I am going to be going to a hotel that only offers wireless internet. I have two laptops; one that has wireless internet and wired internet, and one that only has wired internet. The computer that I am used to using is the computer with only the wired internet, and I would like to use it to connect to the internet at the hotel. This said, I would like to use my computer that has the wireless internet to connect to the wireless internet, and then be set up to serve the internet out through it's LAN cable, to the other computer. In affect, I would like to set up my windows xp computer that has wireless internet as a proxy server so that it sends out the data through it's LAN port. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

    listen, instead of all that just get a wifi card or "dongle" that plugs into your USB port. It's a heck of a lot easier to carry around.

I don't know if the XP computer will let you use wireless and wired at the same time(I mean, they will both be enabled, but I think only one of them will actually be working). Anyways, if you decide to give it a shot, get a crossover cable: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102423&cp=&sr=1&origkw=crossover+cable&kw=crossover+cable&parentPage=search If you do this successfuly, please post how you did it, becuase I would want to know.

I completely agree with the above poster get your self a linksys usb adapter, something like the following your going to save yourself a ton of problems, either that get a wireless router and adapter for that second laptop so you can avoid paying for 2 pcs on the internet. If you still want to use it the way you describe it then look at the windows help for internet connection sharing...
