Why does Outlook 2007 keep prompting for a password?

Outlook 2007& /Plus Yahoo -and Enter Network Password problem?

  • In the last several days, for some reason I keep getting the "Enter Network Password" screen every couple of minutes. All the fields are filled in and all I have to do is say OK but this is happening on both my desk top XP Pro and my Vista laptop. HELP!!!

Something really sounds 'off' about this behaviour...don't enter your passwords until you've followed these steps... It would appear that you have 2 separate problems happening and some of the answers are eluding to them. (okay, some are shouting about it). First, you've likely been infected by more than a virus...spyware, malware, whatever you prefer to call it, your browser is also being hi-jacked. This we can fix by running a remote scan in most cases. I'll put a link below to the F-Secure site that will allow you to scan and clean your pc of viruses and other malware infections. It's a web based version of their retail package that can assist you now. Second, I would recommend you get the full package of F-Secure (or, as a second choice...Norton Internet Security). Don't settle for 'just the anti-virus protection'. You need antivirus / spam / firewall protection at the very least. We use F-Secure for all our clients and our internal contractors as well. The full suite will provide Antivirus protection, Firewall Security, Malware/Spyware protection, and more. You can go to the second link below and download a trial version of the package to test on your machine before you purchase it outright. I believe it's a 30 or 45 day trial, sufficient to test and acquire the full package. Also, the last time I checked, the retail version came with 3 licensed copies of the program in the same box. This can be purchased through your computer or office stores, or directly from them online. They've been around for as long as Norton (Symantec) and in our experience, provide a simpler interface with stronger tools than any other, by far.
