-
I just did a few speed tests on the internet i got like an average of 1.2 mbps. On my system tray it shows my internet connection and it says "running/ Speed 54 mbps/ connection:excellent. If my pc getting 54 mbps why is my internet only 1 mbps. How can i fix this. I use a wiresless router, and reciever if that matters.

Answer:
54 mbps is the total bandwidth capacity for local data transfer, it has nothing to do with internet speed. Call your ISP and ask them how much you're paying for and compare what they tell you with your speed test. Typically you'll hear 3,6,8,10 or more mbps Also, note that Mbps is refering to BITS not BYTES. To convert divide the mbps download speed by 8. So a speed of 1.2 Mbps = 0.150 MBps = 150 KBps.
