Where to read other peoples blogs ?

  • ok, maybe this is a stupid question,(it certainly sounds like one to me..) but where exactly do i go to read other peoples blogs?! I recently opened my own blog account with wordpress.com. I see how i can go to their homepage and check out the most popular blogs. I also saw how i can click on a tag word and look at popular blogs within that category. But is there a way i can just browse random blogs?? What if im not interested in the "most popular"? what if i want to read blogs by readers who like me, only have 1 to 3 blogs posted and dont have any views or comments yet? I think they should have the blogging site set up like yahoo ansers...Where you can just pick a category, than pick am more particular subcategory within that category, and then you can see all the blogs posted in that category, listed in order from recently posted. That would make sense to me. Why dont they do it like that? Or do they, and I'm just not seeing it? Or maybe theres a different blogging website that is more organized than wordpress.com? Thanks for all your comments!!!!!!

I am a user at WordPress as well and have learned a fair amount about finding other blogs of interest - not just popular ones. From the WordPress homepage you can use the top right search bar to find other blogs that interest you. The search is not limited to popular or unpopular blogs - it's limited to your search query. For example, try searching for "writing:" http://en.search.wordpress.com/?q=writing This will give you a plethora of blog's to choose from - some maybe as new as yours. You, and bloggers like you, can also increase your popularity by tagging. Add only relative terms - yet popular enough to be fair game on search engines. Comment FREQUENTLY on WordPress.com & DailyPost.com, "liking" their posts. This may give you a dramatic increase in views as well. My point in this is to convey the fact that many blogs follow these guidelines and grow very quickly. Therefore, fewer "brand-new" blogs may be found. They're out there though, just look around! (I personally just picked up blogging mid-way through last year, though I started my blog a long time ago.)
