How to connect my win 2000 laptop to xp pc?

couple of points to think of. you have a wireless router, so i assume your laptop has wifi capability, your pc probably does not unless you bought a wifi adapter or card. if you pc is wireless than you need to check your router to make sure it will connect to more than one wifi adapter. you also need to make sure that whoever set you router up did not turn on mac address checking, if that is the case than the pc needs to be added to the table. if your pc is not wireless there should be wired ports in the back of the router that your pc can be connected too. same issue as before, make sure the router accepts more than one pc, and that it is not suing mac addresss for control. Once that is all cleared up, your pc and your laptop should get each a seperate ip address that will allow both of them to talk to the internet and to each other. then its a question of turning on the file and print sharing attributes of both machines and you should be good.
