Is there a BT shop in Aberdeen?

Bt home hub?

  • How many users have had big problems with BT Home Hub 5812 and also Voyager 2500? I have had 3 Home Hub 5812 as my wireless connection disappeared when I moved more than 10ft. away from the hub and it was extremely slow. I now have a Voyager replacement which is even worse and will not receive a signal, even though my laptop is showing connected, excellent signal strength etc. Just what you want when paying BT for wireless broadband! I now have a list of BT UK phone nos. to use to get someone who speaks English but, despite their best efforts my connection still fails. My laptop works fine on my computer shop's wireless connection and their experts have had loads of people with the same BT hub problems. There were two people in the shop with me with exactly the same problem and, like me, BT had told them it was their laptop at fault. The only answer seems to be to ditch the BT rubbish and buy a Netgear router. Comments from other BT victims please.

Yeah, my laptop is also broke. And my Dad's brand-new £900 laptop. I'm using a desktop and it's wired up but even still, it goes wrong. I have to reboot the router maybe 5 times in the average day. Stupid HomeHub crap!!!!

On the back of the Hub near the bottom you will see a grey coloured oblong button. Shut down your completely especially at the electrical socket. Next press the Oblong button for a Minimum of 20 seconds. This will revert the hub to factory condition. Next turn on the computer and hopefully this will solve the problem

Perhaps its user error, i have had no problems with mine. I made a mistake with my laptop and reset it back to factory settings so i had to reinstall my home hub couldn't do it so i rang the helpline which is based in India (costs a bomb) they couldn't have been more anymore helpful and polite and they also rang me back so it wouldn't cost me so much.
