I can give general tips for maintaining a computer. Maybe after all these your computer will feel a bit faster. If all else fails, you could start over again by doing a factory recovery. A recovery will reset your PC to factory default. First thing you want to do is scan your hard drive with an anti-virus and anti-malware program. If you don't have one, I recommend downloading Avast, AVG free, or Microsoft Security Essentials. All three are free. After the scan make sure to delete everything the anti-virus finds. Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Install it, update it, and do a quick scan. Again, delete everything that it finds. The next step is to uninstall any old programs and delete or backup old files you no longer use anymore. Go to Programs and Features under the Control Panel and uninstall any programs you don't use or need anymore. Uninstall all web browser toolbars while you're at it. Delete old files or back them up to an external hard drive, USB flash drive, or burn them to disc (CD, DVD, Blu-ray). Click the start orb, All Programs, Startup. Remove any programs from the Startup folder that you don't need to start when Windows starts. The more programs you computer starts up with, the longer it's going to take for your desktop to load. Take a look at the system tray after you reboot your computer. It's that area on the task bar next to the clock on the right hand side. Check what programs are there when Windows starts. Again, the more programs that start up with your computer, the longer it's going to take to get to the desktop. Programs that start and go to the system tray usually have options to stop them from starting when your PC starts up. If you have a lot if instant messenger type programs then you should consider only allowing the ones you use most to start up with Windows. Click the start orb, type msconfig and hit the Enter key. A new window will open. Click the Startup tab. You will see a list of programs, each with its own check mark box. Uncheck the programs you don't need to run at start up. You want to be careful here. Only uncheck a program if you know what it does. Run Windows Update to make sure you have all the latest drivers and security fixes for your OS. If those suggestions don't help then you might want to just start over and do a system recovery. A recovery will wipe out all of your programs and files, so backup anything you want to keep. You'll want to check the manual for your model to find our how to do a system recovery for your specific PC. Once you finish the recovery, make sure to run Windows Update. After you get all the updates you can then install your old program and move your personal files from your backup media to your personal folders again. Finally, if you can't play some games then your PC might not be powerful enough. It sounds like you're trying to play Flash games but it's always possible that your PC just isn't up to running some games. - Dominic
