What is an MTU and why is it important?

I'm only using a Modem for my xbox 360 live and my MTU fails what can i do to make it pass?

  • *Everything else connects but my MTU *stay in mind i'm only using my modem *can u please type step by step *Can I buy another modem and use it for my xbox360 only?

    Starting from the bottom up. No you can have only one modem hooked up at a time so what you need is a router for your computer and Xbox at the same time but im sure you wanna get straight to XBL for now so lets go into that 1. Unplug everything from your modem 2. plug all cables back into modem EXCEPT power cored 3. make sure cable is connected to the Xbox and only the xbox then plug in power 4. after this happens the power light should come on then all the other lights like connected should blink then stay solid 5. check the activity light on the modem if this is blinking or solid then go back to your xbox and run the test again... Although MTU has only failed me once and that was when XBL was offline so lets hope this takes care of the problem a simple modem reboot
