What's the point of buying an Iphone 4 if it has a 3g network?

I'm buying an Iphone for Christmas and I'm only getting a 3g network? Why should I pay $100 for the Iphone 4 when I can pay $1 for an Iphone 3g

basically theres a hardware difference, the iPhone 4 has a slightly faster CPU and a bit more gram inside. Unless u plan to play apps all day save yourself the 99$ and get the 3g
