  • Answer:

If your on Microsoft word u just need to click the the circle symbol on the upper left corner and from there highlight save as then click word document then click desktop and click save. Then when u add it to an email or upload it just find it in your desktop and attach it or upload it. Simple=) And if your on open office then try copy and pasting it to a blank word document and do the steps above.

Did you type it using MS Word? If not, ask your professor if you can convert it into a .pdf file and send it to her that way. She should be able to read it then.

To save a document as MS WORD it must be written or transford to the MS WORD program. If your using a pc it usually in the start tool bar. Look for Microsoft word.

It should just save as a ".doc" file with whatever you want to call it in front of the period. The only problem could arise from the version of MS Word (same as your Microsoft Word, MS is just short for Microsoft) your Professor is running. There can be an issue with MS Word from the 2010 version being read in the 2007 version for instance. I would assume that your Professor is running the latest version of Word which is backward compatible and will be able to read earlier file versions. Just save it in Word as a .doc and you will be fine.

OpenOffice Writes MS_Word formatted files. Select File -> SaveAs. Then use the pull-down menu for file "FILTER" type (it is a looong list because OpenOffice supports a great many old formats like Microsoft's). Choose the file type called "Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (*.doc)" --- or some such phrase --- and save your file that way. Be sure to give your MS-Word formatted file a different name than the normal, master file. For example, if your document is called "report.odt", save the MS-Word version as "report.mso.doc" using the MS-Word filter menu item. Always keep your master document (the one you use for editing and composing) in normal ODT format (Open Document Text), which is what OpenOffice does naturally. Only use the deprecated formats for transferring to people who are still using the down-level formats. Also, be sure to tell your professor that OpenOffice (and now LibreOffice) are the preferred tools for document processing and productivity. Since LibreOffice is better than MSO, and is completely FREE, it is wrong of her to require that the students use a fee-based proprietary product like MSO. Since you have OpenOffice (now called LibreOffice going forward), you never need Microsoft Office for anything.

MS Word=the default saving file of Microsoft Word. MS Word=Microsoft Word. The save files of Microsoft Word= .doc or .docx (For 2010 and higher).
