How do i connect my psp to a linksys router?

Linksys Router problem - When the Router is all connected to my PC, the PC doesnt get internet.?

  • Okay the Router is a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHz BroadBand Router. My ISP is Cox Communications which is a Cable Internet. Anyway, i followed all the instructions for the linksys CD. It connected and it worked well. The Internet went to the PC and it went to my PSP like i wanted it to. Problem is, after like 30-40 minutes of use, the internet shuts down from my PC. IE displays Page Cannot be Displayed. When that i happends, the only way i can get internet, is if i take the Ethernet cord and connect it directly from my cable modem right into my Ethernet port in the back of my PC modem. Meaning the Router is no longer involved. I want to know how i can keep the Router connected giving off Wi-Fi signals yet still have the internet connection on my PC. Thanks.

    Mine does the same thing= after calling my isp = they said to unplug the rounter for 30 -then plug it it back in= it works for me= it will go a week or so and not act up = then it will for a couple days it will = so unplugging and replugging fixes it=D

Do you have the wireless router wired to your PC? There should be outputs on the back of your router that allow you to connect your PC to it via Ethernet cable. Otherwise, you will have to get a wireless card for your PC.

Matt, Unplug your Modem and Router and turn off your computer. Now plug in and turn on your modem, now your router and finally boot your computer. That should take care of the problem. Norm

It may be an issue with your firewall. Make sure your firewall settings allow for tcp/ip connections. You may also want to put the address for your router (ex 198.162.1.1 ) as a trusted zone in your IE security settings.. Go to tools>internet options click on the security tab and then click on the trusted zone icon then add the address for your router.
