Can you use an Xbox wireless adapter as a wireless router?

Can I use a Linksys wireless card instead of a Microsoft Wireless Network Adapter to connect to XBox Live?

  • I have a Linksys Wireless Network Card and I want to use that to connect my XBox 360 to XBox Live. Do I need the Microsoft wireless adapter or some other hardware to be on XBox Live or is that Linksys card good enough? I have a router installed and I want to use the Linksys network card to connect. It says 2.4 GHz and works on 802.11g with 54 Mbps. I've tried to connect them but my Xbox 360 always says no network adapter when I test my connection. Please help me out by telling me how I can connect them or showing me a site that wil tell me.

Listen i've got the best answer, i bought a wonderful product for $28 dollars (including shipping) on ebay. It has to be the best thing i've bought in my 22years on this earth check this website at the bottom out or just goto ebay and type in Logitech Play Link Wireless Extension. Trust me you get this and you won't be sorry, it says compatible with xbox 360 on the side of my box. I've been using it since christmas with no problems!!! and very easy to hookup! http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/news/u...

It will not, it seems , work. You need a Genuine Xbox Adaptor, or jack in to a Router or hub upstairs. Which will cost more. The system is set to use a Xbox 360 only connection... the drivers and etc will only use those
