How do I find my Wireless WEP key?

How do i find my wireless router's WEP key?

  • i am trying to use my new DS game that allows me to access the internet on my Nintendo DS. the only access point available to me at the moment needs me to input a WEP key in order to use it.

    It really depends on what kind of wireless router you have. Mine, a Motorola, has its own web based setup page. After logging into it the WEP key is under the wireless settings tab. The key is a randomly generated letter and number sequence that is about 20 or so characters long. Unless you can access the setup page it is nigh unto impossible to crack. Hopefully, you still have your literature or CD that came with it and know your password. It will tell you how to find it in there. Your WEP password is established by the wireless router administrator. if you lost it you need to rest the router again and get yourself a new WEP. Don't hesite to email me if you have more issues. Bob.

Go to your browser and type in 192.168.1.1, it should give you a router homepage, you should be able to change security options from there, it will most likely ask for a password to get to security options, the default password will probably be "password" or "123456" or something simple like that.
