How do I fix my Bluetooth Problem?

Bluetooth and WiFi interfering?

  • I recently got some bluetooth headphones and I am noticing when I am connected to my laptop (which has built in bluetooth and Wifi) that the sound cuts-out every once in a while even if I am close to the laptop; however I notice that if I disable the WiFi then the sound does not seem to cut-out. I also notice that on my desktop computer (which has WiFi) sometimes when I sync the headphones to bluetooth it looses the WiFi connection momentarily. Could the Bluetooth and WiFi be interfering with each-other? I looked on the internet and I saw that BOTH WiFi AND Bluetooth operate on the EXACT same frequency of 2.4Ghz, so I think they could interfere with each-other. Someone told me however, that they made bluetooth and WiFi so they could not interfere with eachother because they knew they used the same frequencies. This is an annoying problem since I cannot use the Internet on the laptop without having the sound cut out on the headphones. Are they really interfering with each-other, or are bluetooth and WiFi made so they do not interfere with each-other? Is there a way I can fix this?

  • Answer:

They do interfere with each other. Probably the best solution is to log into your WiFi router and change its channel. If it's on 1, go to 6. If it's on 6, go to 11. If it's on 11, go to 1.
