Bluetooth vs. WiFi?

What is the difference between Bluetooth and WiFi?
-
Answer:
A lot.... they are obviously two different technologies. In simple words, WiFi is has a bigger data transfer rate and range than the Bluetooth. Bluetooth can reach up to 30 foot or 10 meters, while Wifi can go up to 100s of meters depending on the router. WiFis is used more for computer networks while bluetooth is mostly used for Audio accessories and small devices like cellphone that need to connect to other devices. Wi-fi is wireless Ethernet, used like a regular network for computer to computer communication. Bluetooth is designed to be a wireless connection for devices such as headsets. Wi-fi is designed to be used over much greater distances but they both operate on 2.4Ghz.

I agree, not much is different other than distance. Wifi is more efficiant in a larger setting. Bluetooth is great for smaller intimate settings. You wouldn't want your phone to have a Wifi headset, nor would there be a point. Heres Bluetooth information i read earlier today : www.bluetoothredbrain.com I wish i could find the other site that i had up on my screen a week ago about Wifi when i was reading about it. I swear i asked a co worker about Wifi vs Bluetooth and he pointed me to 2 great sites that explained alot. Hope the one helps!
OkSoYeaThatsIt
just the coverage area. both work on 2.4GHz. but WIFI area coverage is so much more

@mjoe is spot on with his answer. To add to it, though... Bluetooth, depending on the specific technology used, has a theoretical top data rate of 3 Mbps where as 801.11g Wifi has a theoretical top limit of 54 Mbps. That, obviously, is a huge difference and that is the main reason they are used for two different purposes.
