How can I use Windows Live Messenger?

Can I use Windows live messenger and Yahoo Messenger on the same computer?

  • I have Windows live messenger, but my contact is on Yahoo messenger. Can I just use Windows live messenger or will I need to have Yahoo messenger on the same computer? But can I do this? Thank you in advance.

  • Answer:

Windows Live Messenger can now communicate with Yahoo! Messenger users. You do not need to have the Yahoo! Messenger installed on your PC unless you want to experience the full Yahoo! Messenger potential (Webcam, File transfers, Photo sharing, Voice, and so on).

Certainly you can, but it may be easier for you to use a chatting client that had all the chat networks (msn, yahoo, aim etc) built into one. A really good chat client is Gaim, you can download it here: http://gaim.sourceforge.net/win32/index.php
