Which is a better configuration for server?

Windws Server 2003 Configuration?

  • I set up a network domain on my server, I set up my user accounts on the server, I connected my computers with Windows XP Professional to the domain, and was able to log in through the domain on the server. When a user logs onto a computer through the domain, I want their documents to be stored on the server in their own private folder, and I want them to be found in the "my documents" folder on the computer. How do I do this? Also, how do I make a software such as Microsoft Office 2010 accessible on any computer by installing it on the server so that it doesn't have to be installed on each individual computer?

  • Answer:

If I were you, I would setup FTP...its what I did and I have friends from all over the state uploading/downloading content and it appears its the simplest thing to explain/do to them. They are the LEAST computer literate people I know and it flows over smoothly. As far as Microsoft Office 1'0, I think you are referring to a portable version that can be executed out of a folder OR the users would have to remote into the server to type up a paper (Not convenient..at all)
