How can I speed up my wireless connection????

How to increase USB wireless adapter connection speed?

  • I recently purchased a Linksys AE2500 USB wireless adapter in order to use internet (obviously). However, the speed is ridiculously slow (roughly 100 kb/s download speed). My computer lists my internet connection as "fair" although a laptop in the same room will receive "excellent" accompanied by 1mb/s download speed. How do I increase my internet speed/connectivity? I've already spoken to a Linksys representative, who gave me no helpful advice.

    One of the pitfalls with wireless USB networking devices. You should have at least purchased a wireless PCI networking card and you would have had a far better antenna. That being said, ALL home wireless networking is inferior to a wired connection and if you have a desktop you aren't moving around, get wired. EDIT: Apparently NO one can give you helpful advice. You refuse to listen to people who know lol. Thumb me down. Just keep in mind I design wifi communications systems for industrial wifi networks.
