So I'm in the networking field trying to become a network administrator. now i'm almost at graduation point with a bachelor degree in network and system administration and I've at so many job application where companies require unix/linux knowledge. WTF is this? I've heard of it during my academics but never really worked on it? Is it really important? I mean what is it? is it a server? an OS? ...
