How to improve xbox live connection?

How can improve the connection on xbox live when it is connected through my laptop?

• My cable is connected through my 360 to my laptop. Under my connections i go to my wireless connection then advanced tab. I check allow other users to connect through this connection. The i check allow users to control or disable it. THen i click ok. WHen i play on live its still laggy. and for example on halo 3 xbox live. the players move around fast. there in one spot, then in a second somewhere else. then im dead. HOW CAN I IMPROVRE IT? anything. downloads, tutorials. tell me

  I would say, that for starters. Check to see if you can play without lag if the 360 is directly connected to the router (via wire) You may have to move some things around to do so, but if you can't play lag-free connected to the router directly then you can't play lag-free at all, unless you get either a better router or better ISP. If you are lag free directly connected to router then get the $100 wireless adapter for the Xbox 360 (price may have decreased by now). I use it and it is phenominal! No lag and no wires! I am happy. If you are still laggy when directly connected to the router try disconnecting your router from your modem, and then connect your xbox 360 directly to your modem. If that fixes the problem and you are now lag-free. Then I would suggest getting a new router. Linksys, is one that I hear is good. However Xbox.com has a place to look at specific routers that are xbox live compatible. If you are laggy after connecting directly to the modem, then I suggest you get a new internet service provider (ISP). In order from worst type to best type are the different types of data transfers that are used for High speed internet. Satelite, Cable, DSL, Fiber Optic, and in the next 50 years there will be lasers. I would suggest DSL since it is the most available and in the middle of quality (watch the prices though!).
