How do I hook my PC to xBox live?

XBox 360 to PC connection problem...?

  • I've been trying to hook my XBox up to my PC, for the purposes of media sharing (not Xbox Live). When I do this, the Local Area Connection tells me there is limited-to-no-connectivity. This has never happened to me on this computer before, and I've gone through multiple FAQ sites to try and correct it. How can I make my computer and xbox sync up and use the correct IP addresses?

    You cant connect the Xbox to the PC unless you use a hub, switch, or a crossover cable. If you are just connecting it you will get that limited connectivety. There is no DHCP server assigning an IP address. If you are not using a router you will have to manually configure the the ip addresses and it will get complicated unless you understand TCP\IP. Heck I am an expert and can't get it to connect to my pc either. My pc won't detect the Xbox even though they are both on the same network. Its supposed to connect via Windows Media Player 11 but it won't detect it in the Share list. It used to work before the Xbox Live update.

Yes I am sure that when you restored you must have lost All your settings. I'm not too sure about the xbox but I have one & I share my pc connection with my xbox And laptop through a wireless router. To do this I bridge the connection. Go to Network connections, and (with you finger on the control button on your keyboard) highlight "Wireless connection & Local Area Network" then right click to "Bridge Connections". Now try connect to your PC. Let me know how it goes & I'll try give you a hand. EDIT - Also make sure you enabled SSDP Discovery Service", "Universal Plug and Play Device Host" and "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Device" to Start.
