what happens internally in a router when lan is configured?

How to connect 2 pc's as a router?

I have 2 server's installed on two different PC, with 2 LAN card on each. I configured each as router. the question is, how can I connect them both with each other so tat each router's LAN can share data with each other? REMEMBER: router's or LAN is on different locations, but has access to internet. any help is appreciated.
