Answer:
There are two main temp folders in XP 1. C:Temp and 2. Under Documents and Settings>User Name> Local Settings>Temp. To get the 1. open My Computer and click on C (main hard drive) and open the temp folder, and delete the contents. To get to 2. open My Computer > click on documents and settings > click on the name of the main computer user and Click on Local Settings (NOTE! this may be a hidden folder) to un-hide the folder go to near the top of the screen and click on tools and from the drop down menu choose folder options. Click on the view tab and in the advance options box put a dot in the show hidden files and folders button then click OK. The Local Folder should show up. Open it and you will see the temp folder. Open it and you can safely delete everything in it.

Just delete your browsing history and temporary files. For Internet Explorer.. click Tools>Internet Options>go to Browsing History> Click Delete>Delete All.

Download CCleaner and run it. This should get rid of anything. You shouldn't be surfing porn in the first place, buddy. Not cool. http://ccleaner.com

To find most pictures on your pc: Click Start > Search > search in all files and folders > search for *.jpg and *.gif. That should show you what folders they are in. To just clean up your temporary Internet files: Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > click Delete Files.

You could go to the start menu, run search, search for folders named temporary... You may have to go through all your folders as well... You should also run your virus/spam scanners when you're done. Depending on what site your friends went to- some sites are set up by hackers for the sole purpose of downloading viruses to your computer. A friend of mine's jacka$$ roommate did this a year or so ago and the porn came with a worm and a couple other nasty things that could have really damaged the computer. Be careful!

Use the search feature of your PC. Select the Advanced search feature, search for all file types and put the name in as *.tmp by typing the Shift and the number eight key above the U and I keys to make the asterisk. See the results of the search. Also use Avast from www.avast.com or the current antivirus program already installed on the computer to check the entire hard drive for any detectable viruses. Use Lavasoft Ad-aware and maybe hijackthis! or another reliable high rated antispyware program, to best ensure any viruses are removed. Lavasoft is available for home use for free from www.lavasoft.com and you should be sure to select the gear icon to adjust settings and then set Lavasoft to also check inside compressed and archived files. You may need to adjust a setting in your computer to be able to see the type of the file. In Windows, if the files do not show what type of file each is, that is, the suffix does not appear such as txt at the end a readme document, so all you see is readme instead of readme.txt you will need to make this change: Click in Explorer (in any window showing folders in your computer) on Tools, Folder options, then in the View tab, see and notice the items just below the folder called Hidden Folders. Unselect: Hide extensions for known file types. After uninstalling the programs that are not necessary do all of these steps again in SafeMode after restarting the PC. Shut down your PC and then when you start it back up start it in safe mode with networking. Press the F8 key, up there just above the 7 key. Press it about every second or every two or three seconds starting right after you turn on the power for the PC. A black screen with white sentences will appear and you can select the Safe Mode with Networking choice by using the down arrow or the up arrow on the keyboard. If you have pressed the F8 key too many times some beeping might happen and you can start over by powering off the PC and powering it back on again, and pressing F8 about every 2 or 3 seconds. If Windows starts up without giving you the choice to go into Safe Mode with Networking, then you did not start pressing the F8 function key up above the line of number keys, or you did not start pressing the F8 key soon enough, so get shut down properly and then try again. In Safe Mode with Networking, proceed by selecting Yes (and do not attempt to do a system restore to an earlier configuration yet - you are still doing some important preliminary trouble shooting right now.) Try to connect to the Internet while you are in Safe Mode with Networking. Just go to www.nasa.gov or www.mcafee.com or www.msn.com and be careful to type accurately of course. If the internet is available then you know for sure that your network card is working OK and the problem is current application software or operating system software problem(s) that prevent successful access to the Internet while in normal mode. Disk Cleanup Go to Start Menu, Program Files, Accessories, System Tools, and select Disk Cleanup (or just press the Windowskey AND THE r key, and type cleanmgr and select OK.) This will launch Disk Cleanup. You might deselect Downloaded Program Files, if you know you really need some most or all of the downloaded programs that are now on the PC. If you want to keep downloaded programs files just de-select the removal by unchecking this item. Select for removal all Temporary Internet Files (these are just the cached temporarily stored html and jpg and other mostly small files from recent Internet webpages visited.) Select for removal the Offline Web Pages if you have no real need or desire to specifically save these pages previously visited.) KEEP -do not delete Office Setup Files for convenience. You likely have already deleted the Recyle bin many times, but yes you can select Recycle Bin to have it emptied in a moment. Do not delete Setup Log Files. Do Delete the Temporary Files unless you store things in that folder and really want to keep this from being cleaned out. Select WebClient, Temporary Offline, and Offline Files if you have no real need to keep each of these types of saved files. Do NOT select Compress old files as this complicates and slows things because your PC will need to de-compress any compressed files it will use and that takes a bit of processing power and a tiny bit of extra time. Probably do not Catalog Files for the Content Indexer. You should still mention that you got some bad pop-ups and that you looked at the installed programs and ran Lavasoft and updated and ran the Antivirus. But do not lie about it or pretend that nothing ever happened. If you have not successfully completely cleaned up the PC, you risk the adverse effect upon your character by hiding the event whether or not it ever comes up because of any problems on the PC. Be courageous and diligent AND also communicate with your parents or whoever owns the PC.
