Answer:
rtfm for the router it will tell you how to set this its device specific, so you need to knwo the precise instructions for the make and model of router you have. its almost certainly set using a web page on the router itself.. so you would need to know the ip address of the router + any user id and password for the router you cna find the ip address of the router if you find the gateway or DNS server in the network settings for the computer. put that number (often 192.168.1.xxx) into your browser and it should pull up the management page for the router

you have to set a network password from you router setting. Check this link below http://www.mobysweb.com/wireless-network.html regards Moby http://www.MobysWeb.com/

Most wireless routers have a web interface to access the settings. (check your documentation!) Usually when you install your router, one PC will have administrator tools for the router installed onto it (which will usually be an electronic copy of the documentation and a link to the router web admin tools) Assuming you can find these administration controls, you should then be able to set up a secure network: Make sure that you use a protection type that is supported by all the devices you need to run on it. If your router was installed by your ISP, you may need to get in touch with them (or check their web site for "self help" guides) to set this up if you don't seem to have documentation to hand

Get the instructions for your router and get access to the router control panel, you will be able to set the password there.

Open IE and type http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1 then you can configure your router.

Do not broadcast your wireless SSID, that will help a bunch in making the connection more secure.
