8ms is very good. I would imagine that this kind of ping speed is probably on your own network. 8ms (the LATENCY) refers to the amount of time it took to receive the packet from the IP address. Lower is better (faster transmission of the required information). TTL (Time To Live) is: A timer value included in packets sent over TCP/IP-based networks that tells the recipients how long to hold or use the packet or any of its included data before expiring and discarding the packet or data. For DNS, TTL values are used in resource records within a zone to determine how long requesting clients should cache and use this information when it appears in a query response answered by a DNS server for the zone. From 202.xx.xx.x is the IP address that you're pinging (resolved from the DNS address if you used one). So, for example: Google lives at - 173.194.41.67 Hope this helps!

That is low for an internet host. 1000 ms is equal to one second. TTL is a 'time to live'. If your data had to go through 121 more internet routers to get to your destination, the transfer would fail and you would receive a TTL expired response packet. Typical 'good' latency to various locations on the internet is 50 ms or below. Any gaming or voice applications will operate smoothly. A 'bad' latency is when you begin to get over 150 ms or so.

its fairly good my ping on norm depending on time of day is from 87ms - 200ms
