Need help choosing a wireless router?

I need help choosing a wireless router router?

  • Are there any wireless routers that are a cable modem and wireless router in 1. Sorry for the confusion. i want to connect a cable to the wireless router and then conect the ethernet cable to the computer, but I also want the wireless router to work.

  • Answer:

This depends on which ISP you use, you may want to ask your ISP about a 'Home Networking' package. I know that Bellsouth offers a Westell Versalink 327W which is both a DSL Modem/Wireless Router in 1, but since you have Cable, I'd advise going with the cable co. On the other hand, i've had a great experience with Belkin brand routers, setup was painless. Good luck whichever brand you choose. :)

2Wire is the best. Try the 2Wire Gateway 1701HG

Anything like that you'd have to buy directly from your ISP as the equipment has to be able to bridge their network and equipment and be configured by them before shipping them out.
