Is Kazaa really free?

Why Kazaa doesn't work on my computer?

  • I have Norton Internet Security installed on my computer. Norton probably has anti-spyware installed and blocks Kazaa. Maybe Kazaa has spyware inside its software? What I need to do to make Kazaa works on my computer without harming system's security? I appreciate any help.

    First of all, you don't want Kazaa. Sorry to break it to you, but Kazaa will get you caught QUICK. Get bearshare, or limewire, or better yet, something you pay for. Well, Norton should automatically let you choose when you want something to be able to run. If it doesn't, bring up Norton. Oh crap, wrong Norton, sorry, i don't know. Bring up the options menu, though, and if all else fails turn Norton off while using the program. Sorry!

Check the following things: * Are you running a firewall? Try disabling it. * Windows XP also has a built-in firewall. Try disabling it. * Are you on a school/university/work network? Then the port used by Kazaa Lite may be blocked. Try setting a different port in Options. * In the Kazaa Lite Resurrection Tools menu, click to launch KaZuperNodes. Once it's loaded click on the red and white hospital looking cross in the bottom right corner. * The SuperNodes list included in Kazaa Lite may be outdated. Obtain a new list:

dump kazaa, get a legit version of kazza lite, kazaa has spyware built in, Norton also probally also block the ports kazaa needs as well, while you are at it dump norton and get zonealarm.

Kazaa is full of spyware, and supposedly (probably because of that) doesn't really have a lot of users any more. My friends with P2P-friendly hobbies all abandoned it for Bearshare. I've also had good luck turning off Norton before I install somthing I trust (like Yahoo! Messenger). I had to re-install Messenger like 3 times because Norton kept blowing me up.
