The first thing I would do is test the speed of your current DSL Internet connection. Go to http://speedtest.net and test it. If your results are not what you are paying for from your DSL provider then call and complain. There is really no way to accelerate an Internet connection, It is what it is. Video such as Youtube is already in a compressed state. Web accelerators can not speed up compressed video without reducing the image quality. "Broadband" or "High Speed" Internet are loosely defined terms. Originally broadband Internet was defined as downstream speeds faster than 512 Kbps. The definitions minimum speed has been steadily going up. Currently the FCC defines Broadband as a 4 Mbps or faster Internet connection. Many DSL plans are not this fast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadband_Internet_access At&t is currently upgrading many DSL customers to their new fiber optic U-Verse service. http://isp1.us/blog/att-forcing-dsl-customers-to-u-verse/ At&t U-Verse uses fiber optic cables to achieve up to 50 Mbps ADSL2+ download speeds. With the bandwidth of fiber, At&t can also offer high definition digital television services on the same connection. The best way to reduce buffering is to get a faster broadband service plan Cable and fiber ADSL2+ services tend to provide the fastest services. Either upgrade your existing DSL Internet service or go to a broadband ISP comparison site where you can input your street address such as: http://isp1.us/find/ All of the broadband offers in your area will show up. The physical address is needed because some services, particularly DSL are very distance sensitive. For example you might be able to get a specific level of service while your next door neighbor can't. You'll want to pick the fastest plan that fits your budget. In some areas this can be 100 Mbps+. Naturally the faster the connection the better, however faster is usually directly proportional to more expensive. Something in the 5 to 30 Mbps. range is a good speed/price tradeoff that might satisfy your broadband Internet needs at a much lower cost. Good Luck...
