Why the Window tab gets closed without closing the window?

Outlook exp; while working in new mesge window if close outlk exp , the total outlk exp. window is closed why?

• during working with outlook exp (with IE6 on XP professonal SP2). new message window, by mistake if I close the out look express close button the total outlook exp is closed without saving of new message how it can be worked with new message even by closing the outlook express window. in our office some computers are working like that
