No network access, 'The dependency service or group failed to start'?

Running Windows Vista Home with wireless but cannot connect to the network. The Network and Sharing Center says "Unknown: The dependency service or group failed to start" and the Network Diagnostics "cannot run because the Diagnostic Policy Service is not running". Anyone have any ideas whats going on?

Answer:
Go to Start > Run and type in services.msc then press Enter. Look for Diagnostic Policy Service and set to automatic It would be wise to restart the service too. Once you have run the diagnostics, post back here with the results.
