How can I use several windows by Ribbon?

How to use LAN Card in WINDOWS 98 SE? I have tried all the ways. But of no use. IN XP it's perfectly working.

  • Card Type: Intex 10/100 Mbps Fast Eathernet card (Plug&Play The packaging shows "Wake On" Lan & Model No. LC81 I have even tried to repair windows 98 SE. There is no icon network appearing in task bar as in XP. I have installed the driver so many times. During booting the screen displays followings: (a) C:\>rem By Windows 98 Network for Netware upgrade C:\Windows\lsl.com (b) C:\>rem By Windows 98 Netware C:\Windows\Net start (c) C:\>rem By Windows 98 Network for Netware upgrade C:\Windows\odihlp.exe (d) C:\> The same card is perfectly working in WIndows XP on same computer. I have even manually tried to copy slnt.sys files from CD to C:\Windows\system32. I have removed and re-fixed the card in another PCI slot but no change. The adapter is listed in device manager's list as "Realtek Rtl-8139d PCI Fast Eathernet Adapter with "device is working properly". Please somebody help I have provided all the details. Please go through before ansers.

  • Answer:

I used to find that lan cards in 98 were conflicting with other devices such as sound cards. The best way i fond to deal with this was to disbale all other devices for the present. Install the LAN card and let it choose its own IRQ and then reinstall all other devices afterwards. Hope this helps

Download driver from http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=385805 and try again, RealTek used AMD chipset so you can try to get NDIS4 driver for Win98. Lan card talks with OS through NDIS driver. Notepad .inf file from your cd to see what driver is for WIN98. Good luck.

windows XP/windows 2000 or later version of Microsoft operating system doesnt require ...device drivers ....It wud recognise by itself for most of the comonly used devices.... but it is the case with lower version like win98 win me win 95.... so u need to have the device driver ie: ethernet card driver ... for having things done in win98.. goahead installing the required drivers ...theres nothing wrong in the hardware or OS

I own a laptop with windows 98 and a working LAN card Windows 98 does not configure automatically for wireless operation it has to be done manually! Go to start click on RUN and type "winipcfg and your wireless program will appear showing your wireless connection follow the instructions given to configure and you should be up and running in seconds! My answer will work the first time and its a lot more simple then the ones given here! Once you go to start click and go to run and type the word winconfig you will be hooked up in seconds! and once you do this your computer will stay hooked up to your wireless connection until you go to a different wireless location then you will have to repeat the connection instructions I have given you again for the new connection. I own the same LAN card you do and my wireless is working great! and fast too! Let me know how it worked out for you!

Lots of money but no sense
