How can I use my PC with a wireless printer?

How do I set network between laptop & PC so I can use printer that is connected to the PC upstairs?

• My laptop is downstairs and my PC is upstairs with the printer. I have to keep going upstairs to print things by saving on a memory key. It would be easier if I could print from my laptop straight to printer upstairs. My laptop is connected to the internet wirelessly. While I am here, would I need extra security for the PC (not connected to the internet) upstairs if I made it a network? Thanks for your help.

  If the wireless computer is connected to a wireless internet router in your house that is also used by the upstairs PC, you will be able to print to it from the wireless laptop. You need to setup a network on both pc's-just run the network setup wizard (in network connections in the control panel)and follow the steps, its pretty easy. Then you need to go to the PC upstairs with the printer, and go to the printer folder. Right click on the printer you want to share, and turn on the sharing function on the right click. You will probably need to install the drivers from the printer in the laptop, but after that you will be able to print upstairs just fine, as long as the computer is turned on upstairs.
