Ahh this is a common mistake many people make. What you are seeing is the connection between your computer and router. The router is connected to a modem. The Modem is what connects you to the Internet. The router is in charge of routing connections. This can include computer to computer. The computer is connected to the router at a speed of 104 mbs, The router is conected to the modem at a speed of 104 mbs or more. The Modem is connected to the Internet at a speed of 20 mbs. Your router is what makes the Wireless network. If you were to transfer a file from another computer on the same wireless network. It would transfer at a speed of 104 mbs, but if you were to transfer a file over the internet. You could only do it at a speed of 20 mbs. Oh by the way, everyone else who posted before me is right as well

The broadband speed is the speed of the connection from your router to your ISP. The wireless connection speed is the speed of the connection from your PC to the router. So two machines on your home network can communicate faster with each other than they can to the internet.

The 104 Mbps is the connection speed between your computer and your router (think of it as the "base station"). The 20 Mbps connection is between your router and the rest of the Internet.

Your wireless connection is to your wireless router. Obviously a link that only goes a few feet can easily be much faster than a link that goes across a city.

104Mbps will be your network speed. eg if you were sending information through your network to another computer on your network you will achieve that speed assuming the other computer has a 1000mbps or higher network interface card. your internet speed is seperate from your Local Area Network speed

Broadband speed is the speed provisioned by your ISP to your modem. The Connection speed you're looking at is the speed your wireless devices communicate at, not the speed you can access the internet at.

Your laptop is reporting the "theoretical" speed of the connection between your LAPTOP, and your ROUTER. (104 Mbps is quite good.) 20 Mbps is the speed of your connection between your ROUTER, and the INTERNET.
