Why does my Wireless Internet speed keep going up and down?!?
-
Ok lately my wireless internet speed will be at 54.0 MBPS and when i try to do anything the requires connecting to the Internet it shoots down to 11.0, 5.5, or 1.0 and fluctuates between those 3 until i completely close out of everything associated with the web, then is goes slowly back up to 54.0. Im really getting frustrated. I haven't been able to do anything lately. Im on my brothers computer asking this please answer. The wireless card i have is a Netgear Wireless WG111.

Answer:
Sounds like you are either A: at the edge of your range or B: you have something else that is on your network slowing it down. do you have a 802.11g router? Is your network secured? If not then secure it as your neighbor may be stealing your bandwidth. When securing a network I prefer WPA over WEP.
