The links from the prior poster are good. You'll get more information from them than I can share. I've been using the beta version for a few days, so I'll share my thoughts on what I think though. It is still Ubuntu and basically works the same. They moved the minimize, maximize buttons to the left, so people complained about it. They can be moved back to the right by using a different theme though. The default theme, splash screen and stuff have been changed - no more brown and orange, now it's more purple and white. Gimp is no longer installed by default, but that's not a big deal since you can install it. Firefox is now 3.6 It boots slightly faster for me. Also, some of the annoying things seem better. For me in 9.10, videos used to have an incorrect aspect ratio and I had to install a fix. In 10.04, they are already fixed. At least for me, PulseAudio works in 10.04 and no longer stutters. That was a nice surprise! A few other minor things work better also.
