How to print to a laptop computer without a router?

Laptop to Printer?

I have a laptop window xp and a window xp desktop computer. i need to use the laptop to print stuff whitch is connected to the desktop computer using a usb port. i need to print from the laptop copmputer to the lexmark printer witch is coneted to the desktop computer. there is a connection:ethernet to laptop to router to desktoptop computer. the connetion is a internet connetion.Router to modem modem to internet modem to power power to router. any way will do.

Turn on file and printer sharing on your desktop. Add a "Network" printer on your laptop. If you haven't already done so, you'll need to make yourself a workgroup in your network connections.

take the cable that connects ur desktop to the printer and connect the cable with ur laptop. then put in the install disc u got with ur printer, if u got one, or it will just install itself. then after u install it, it should work fine
